Do Pomskies have health problems? ›

Pomskies share genetic predispositions to certain health issues with both of their parents. These include allergies and skin problems, patellar luxation, hip dysplasia, collapsing trachea, epilepsy and heart disease. They're also prone to dental problems and need regular teeth cleanings and daily tooth brushing.

The average female Siberian Husky ranges from 20 and 22 inches tall, and the average male Pomeranian ranges between 8 and 11 inches tall. A full grown Pomsky typically falls in between these two ranges, with an average height of 9 to 15 inches tall, from their shoulder to the floor.

You can leave your Pomsky at home for several hours as long as you train it from the beginning and start gradually. The cons are that it's a relatively new breed (circa 2012) and so the breed standards are still young and in development by kennel clubs. This makes it harder to predict certain traits or structural aspects, which is why it is important to choose ethical breeders, especially ones that health test.

What you probably don't realize is that these puppies are one of the most genetically rare color of Pomskies that there are, they are "blue" puppies. The only coat color more rare for Pomskies at this time is "lavender", which is a genetic step further than the blue color.

Not all breeders will have a Pomsky since this is a relatively new breed. If you can find a reputable breeder with a Pomsky, the price range could be between $2000-$3000. Show-quality puppies could even be as high as $5000.

Pomskies are very heavy shedders and should be brushed at least once a week with a brush specific to their coat's needs. ‌Pomskies “blow their coat” twice a year in a process that lasts about three months. During this time, they lose their undercoat in chunks and should be brushed daily.
